Northeast Conference Field Hockey Release (11/2) 11/2/2009
 | | Rider's Megan Pisani |

|
The final 2009 installment of the Northeast Conference’s weekly field hockey awards programs honors a pair of student-athletes whose performances powered their respective teams into the NEC Tournament, which is slated for November 6 & 7 in West Windsor, New Jersey. Rider secured the top seed in the upcoming four-team postseason tournament thanks to NEC Player of the Week Megan Pisani’s double-overtime game-winning tally against Lock Haven. Pisani, who scored four goals in two games last week, ended Lock Haven’s unprecedented streak of 31 consecutive wins against NEC opponents. NEC Rookie of the Week Michelle Pieczynski helped Monmouth secure the fourth, and final, playoff spot by notching two goals and an assist in a 5-1 win over Siena.
