WC's Mike McTamney

Staten Island, NY – Former Wagner College baseball standout Mike McTamney (Toms River, NJ / Toms River North) has signed a professional baseball contract with the Fullerton Flyers of the independent Golden Baseball League. 

McTamney, who posted a 6-5 record for the Seahawks in the 2005 season, ranked second in the Northeast Conference with 67 strikeouts and fifth in the NEC with 75.2 innings pitched.  The 6-1, 190 lb. righty became the school’s all-time strikeout leader earlier this season and he finished with 229 career K’s.

McTamney joins the Flyers in mid-season of their 90-game schedule that runs from May 26 through August 28.  Currently the Flyers are 8-12 in the California Division of the eight-team league.
