11/15/2009

Long Island's
Connie James

printable version

Both honorees in the season’s first installment of the Northeast Conference women’s basketball weekly awards program hail from one of the league’s Brooklyn-based institutions.  Long Island guard Connie James, a New Jersey native, claimed NEC Player of the Week honors for her complete effort in a season-opening overtime loss to LaSalle.  Meanwhile, cross-borough rival St. Francis (NY) is home to Rookie of the Week Autumn Lau who was the lone NEC freshman to record a double-double this past weekend.
