  QU WBB Team Preview

Quinnipiac

2006-07 Overall Record: 16-12
2006-07 NEC Record/Finish: 10-8/T-4th
2006-07 NEC Tournament Result: Lost in quarterfinal, 63-58, to Monmouth

Veteran head coach Tricia Fabbri returns 13 players, two of which are amongst the league’s best at their respective positions.  Junior guard Erin Kerner (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) and senior forward Monique Lee (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) were both all-NEC second team selections last season, helping the Bobcats produce the conference’s second-best scoring average (68.6 ppg).  Kerner averaged 17.7 points per game, and she upped that output to 18.3 ppg during NEC play.  Lee ranked eighth in both scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg), while rejecting 1.36 shots per game for fourth in the NEC.  The two along with sophomore guard Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, MA/Shepard Hill) should make life difficult on opposing defenses once again.  An NEC all-rookie choice, Kaminski tallied 9.6 points per contest in an average of 20 minutes of action.  She was also one of the league’s best shooters from the charity stripe as a rookie, connecting at 83.3 percent.
