Back-to-Back tournament titles for Fairleigh Dickinson has translated into two consecutive NEC Bowler of the Week honors for McEwan.  FDU’s anchor bowler topped her season-opening performance from the BCU Wildcat Invitational where she accounted for a 20.78 frame average by averaging 22.02 pins per frame at the Jersey Jamboree this past weekend.  Spearheading the Knights’ second straight first-place finish, McEwan started all 13 of FDU’s matches and filled 90.5 percent of frames bowled at the three-day event that unfolded over Nov. 4-6 at Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ.  Back at the same facility at which she led Fairleigh Dickinson to the 2011 NEC Tournament crown, McEwan threw 101 strikes in 177 attempts (.571).  Her team-leading 216.6 traditional game average was a key culprit of FDU’s 5-0 showing during that portion of the meet.  McEwan turned in a team-high 244 game to help FDU power past 2011 NCAA Championship qualifier Sam Houston State.  Her 223 game was a key piece of the Knights’ 1101-1022 win over Vanderbilt.  McEwan continued to deliver during best-of-seven championship baker play on Sunday.  The righty threw back-to-back strikes to put an exclamation point on FDU’s Game 7 victory over Sam Houston State in the tournament semifinal.  McEwan averaged 22.3 pins per baker frame over the course of the entire meet.
