Vinas Joy led the Blackbirds on defense in LIU Brooklyn’s wins last week, including 14 digs in a 3-0 win against Saint Francis (PA), and 22 digs in a four-set match with Robert Morris. She averaged 5.14 digs per set through the two matches. The freshman was named the Molten/NEC Defensive Player of the Week five times in the 2012 season.
