On Saturday, Monmouth secured its fifth Northeast Conference title and first outright with a 19-0 win over Albany. The Hawks are now awaiting selection into the I-AA Playoffs. If not selected, Monmouth will host the Pioneer Football League representative in the Gridiron Classic at Kessler Field on December 2. On Monday, three Hawks earn conference honors, led by quarterback Brian Boland, who was near perfect against the Great Danes. Boland takes home NEC Offensive Player of the Week honor after completing 17-of-18 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. Boland's teammates, Brian Sweeney and David Sinisi, are also honored, capturing NEC Defensive Player of the Week and NEC Rookie of the Week awards, respectively. Sweeney was key in the shutout on Saturday, collecting a team-best nine tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and a quarterback sack. Sinisi swipes his fifth rookie honor this season, after posting 72 yards rushing and 35 yards receiving. The redshirt freshman also scored his 13th touchdown of the year and has netted a touchdown in each game this season - the nation's longest current streak. Saint Francis (PA) junior placekicker Adam Sciulli wins his third NEC Special Teams Player of the Week honor in three seasons, after converting all five of his point-after-attempts and registering two touchback in a 35-14 victory over Wagner.
