Fairfield, CT -- Six members of the 2011 Sacred Heart softball team have been named Division I All-America Scholar Athletes in a recent release from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Lisa Dean (Fairifeld, CT), Taylor Lane (Lisbon, CT), Nicole Sidor (West Vancouver, BC), and Annie Dreher (Saugus, CA) all return for the 2012 campaign after earning academic All-America honors. Taylor Froelich (Garden Grove, CA) and Courtney Lee (Camarillo, CA) both graduated following the completion of the 2011 season, taking with them NFCA academic All-America accolades.

The NFCA awards All-America Scholar Athlete honors to any student-athlete who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2010-11 academic year.  In 2011, over 4,000 student-athletes representing 709 different academic institutions were named as a 2011 NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete.

Sacred Heart ranked 42nd among all Division I programs in 2011, compiling a 3.300 team grade point average.
