The Northeast Conference conducted a preseason media teleconference with head football coaches on Wednesday morning.  With the 2011 season set to kickoff on September 3rd, the league announced the NEC football preseason coaches poll and preseason all-conference team during the call.  Central Connecticut State, the 2010 NEC co-champion, was tabbed the preseason favorite, earning five first place votes.  Duquesne, which finished third a year ago, was chosen second and picked up a pair of first place nods.  As co-champion, Robert Morris represented the NEC in the 2010 FCS playoffs.  This season, the Colonials were tabbed third and claimed a single first place vote.  Albany was picked fourth, followed by Bryant in fifth.  The Bulldogs also collected a lone first place vote.  Monmouth was slotted sixth in the poll, followed by Wagner in seventh, Sacred Heart in eighth and Saint Francis (PA) in ninth. The soundbites below were taken from opening statements made by coaches during the call, followed by a question and answer session with participating media. A special thanks goes out to all the fans who sent in questions for the teleconference. Random names will be selected to win NEC apparel.
