Staten Island, NY –
The Wagner College men’s and women’s basketball programs are inviting fans to attend their Second Annual “Madness Before Midnight” event on Friday, October 12 from 5:45 pm until 8:00 pm at the Spiro Sports Center.

Both teams will be introduced to the public before partaking in basketball-related activities, including but not limited to scrimmages and skill contests.

The Dominos Pizza Slam Dunk Contest figures to be one of the highlights of the night as defending champion Josh Thompson, who claimed the No. 1 spot on ESPN Sportscenter’s Top Play after this dunk over his mother at last year’s event, will be challenged by fellow high-risers Dwaun Anderson, Naofall Folahan and Mario Moody.

In the three-point shootout Laura Amorosa will be defending her title as well, after combining with fellow Canadian Tyler Murray a year ago, who will be replaced this year by Jay Harris.

Looking to spoil an Amorosa repeat will be the teams of:
Marie-Laurence Archambault & Hugo Naurais
Veronick Fournier & Latif Rivers
Jacqui Thompson & Eric Fanning

Head coaches Bashir Mason and Lisa Cermignano will each give the fans a preview of their respective teams, while WFAN 660 AM Radio Personality John Jastremski will be the Master of Ceremonies for the second-straight year.

Besides receiving an exclusive look at the 2012-2013 Seahawks, the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt with one lucky fan winning an iPod and another an iPad.

Admission is free, but canned food donations for Wagner’s 25 Tons of Food Challenge will be gladly accepted. Get there early as attendance is limited to the first 2,000 fans.
