What do you get when you combine Northeast Conference Hoops, social media and a state-of-the-art arena located in the media capital of the world?

The answer comes on Tuesday, October 23 when the Northeast Conference hosts its inaugural “Social” Media Day at the brand-new Barclay’s Center on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.

The day’s events, which will begin at 11:00 am, will air LIVE on NEC Front Row.  The webcast can be seen free of charge and will contain interviews with all 24 of the conference’s men’s and women’s head hoops coaches.

NEC Basketball “Social” Media Day will not only attempt to meet the needs of newspaper writers and other traditional media, but it will also take aim at engaging fans.

"This event will highlight the NEC’s continued commitment to increase exposure for our basketball programs as well as to promote the recently launched NEC Front Row, our state-of-the art digital network," said NEC Commissioner Noreen Morris.

Fans are encouraged to ask questions of their favorite NEC coaches by “Tweeting” their queries using the hashtag #NECinNYC.  A number of the submitted questions will be incorporated into the live webcast. The NEC Overtime! Blog staff will be live on the scene in Brooklyn and will be monitoring Twitter for fan tweets. A Tweeter of the Day will also be announced.
