Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Weekly Release (10/8)
10/8/2012
Fairleigh Dickinson went bout for bout with Garden State rival Monmouth before ending in a scoreless draw thanks to junior goalkeeper
Jacob Lissek, who stopped all seven shots on goal. He then turned away three Mount St. Mary’s attempts in a 2-1 victory on Sunday to cap off a weekend’s effort that earned him NEC Player of the Week honors. He becomes the first goalkeeper to earn the award this season and the first since Darius Motazed of Saint Francis (PA) won it last November. The Knights, who are now 2-0-1 in NEC play, sit in second place in the league standings. Winning the rookie award, first-year forward
Kevin Correa of St. Francis (NY) scored his team- and NEC-leading seventh goal of the season in a 2-1 setback to the Red Flash on Sunday, just two days after dishing out an assist on the game’s first goal in a 2-1 victory over Robert Morris. The Terriers went 1-1 on the weekend, improving to 5-6-1 overall, 2-2-0 in conference play. Click on one of the following links to catch up on all the action in Week 7 of NEC Men’s Soccer.
