Wagner College head football coach Walt Hameline has announced that nine student-athletes have elected to continue their education while pursuing a football career with the Seahawks.
 
Additional student-athletes will be announced at a later date as they become cleared for release through the athletic department’s compliance office.
 
“We’re excited about our newest Seahawks,” said Wagner Head Coach/Athletic Director Walt Hameline. “With this recruiting class, I am confident that we addressed many of our needs. I think this class is solid in all areas and academically it’s a very sound group. I applaud my assistant coaches for their hard work and dedication in helping us recruit a group of quality young men who I am confident will represent Wagner very well both on and off the playing field.”

One of South Jersey’s top prospects … Rugged and aggressive two-way performer who excelled at fullback and linebacker for the Eagles … Drew interest from several FBS schools … Was a four-year varsity player who helped the Eagles to three division titles in his career …Burst free for a 91-yard touchdown run en route to a seven-carry, 122-yard season-opening win over Cherry Hill West … A crunching blocker, he averaged 7.3 yards per carry, finishing the season with 183 yards on 23 carries … Also had five receptions for 67 yards (13.4 yards/catch) out of the backfield … Recorded season-high eight tackles vs.  Eastern HS … Made six stops vs. Cherry Hill West … Played for head coach John Doherty at Paul VI High School.
