Hackensack, NJ -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men’s and women’s tennis teams will make the roughly 350 mile trip from Teaneck, NJ to Charlottesville, VA to take part in the NCAA Tournament where both squads will take on the Virginia Cavaliers next weekend at the Snyder Tennis Center, announced by the NCAA on Tuesday evening.
On the women’s side, FDU (16-7) will go toe-to-toe with the Cavaliers’ women’s team (18-7) on Friday, May 11, at 2 p.m. A win over the Cavaliers, the No. 14 overall seed, would propel the Knights into the second round the following day to face the winner of Tennessee and VCU at 3 p.m. at the Snyder Tennis Center
FDU’s men’s team (15-8) will face a UVA squad (24-1) that is the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament on Saturday, May 12, at 12 p.m. For the Knights, it is a rematch of a 2008 NCAA first round match in which UVA beat FDU, 4-0.
The winner of FDU-UVA will play the winner of VCU versus Columbia on Sunday at noon in Charlottesville.
