FDU Men's Basketball to Play in 2012 South Padre Island Invitational

Hackensack, NJ -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men’s basketball team has been selected to play in the 2012 South Padre Island Invitational along with seven other teams during Thanksgiving weekend on South Padre Island, Texas.
The complete field also includes Delaware State, Illinois State, Navy, Northwestern, Prairie View A&M, TCU and UAB. Each team will play four games, the first two at campus sites and the final two rounds in South Padre at South Padre Island Convention Center. The Knights, Delaware State, Navy and Prairie View A&M will be grouped together in South Padre regardless of the results on campus sites earlier in the week. Opening-round pairings for the games in Texas are slated to be released later this month.
FDU will be making its first appearance in the South Padre Island Invitational, which is preparing to host its event for the eighth consecutive year. The invitational will be the first early-season tournament that the Knights have participated in since the O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic during the beginning of the 2009-10 season.
