Sheffield, England -- LIU Brooklyn men's basketball alum Kyle Johnson led all scorers with 21 points and helped Great Britain to a dominant 86-66 victory over Portugal on Sunday afternoon in an exhibition game. Johnson went 8-for-10 from the field, including 4-for-6 from three-point range in 27 minutes off the bench.

NBA All-Star and Chicago Bulls standout Luol Deng chipped in with 14 points while Arizona State alum Eric Boateng added 11 for Great Britain, who continues preparation for the 2012 Summer Olympics on Thursday, July 19 against the United States. The contest can be seen worldwide on ESPN2 at 7:10 ET.

"This was a good win for us, and especially to get a second win this weekend is a great boost for us," Johnson said of the game. "These games are a great preparation, Portugal are a well drilled side and it's a nice warm-up for our next game against USA."

Great Britain head coach Chris Finch praised the effort of the bench, and in particular Johsnon, as all Great Britain players got on the scoresheet.

"Kyle Johnson shot the ball very well and has been a great find overall for us, but all the players we have are great finds and they all contributed well in this game," Finch commented.
