Smithfield, RI -- Four members of the Bryant University baseball pitching staff have made their leagues respective All-Star teams, as announced by the leagues earlier this week.

Weekend starters Peter Kelich (Jackson, N.J.), Joseph Michaud (Milford, Conn.) and Kevin McAvoy (Syracuse, N.Y.) and lefty reliever Trevor Lacosse (Watervliet, N.Y.) were all named All-Stars for their performances so far this summer.

Kelich and McAvoy each earned All-Star recognition in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). A member of the league-leading Newport Gulls, Kelich will be a member of the East Division All-Star squad. This summer, Kelich is seventh in the league with a 2.73 ERA and has posted a 1-1 record with four saves. The right-hander has struck out five or more batters in five of his nine outings and has issued just eight walks in 26.1 innings. McAvoy and his Keene SwamBats are tied with Newport with the top record in the league and McAvoy has been a big part of that. He has gone 4-2 with a 4.17 ERA in 36.2 innings.

Michaud and Lacosse both have earned All-Star recognition in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL). The league is split into two All-Star teams, Team Ebright and Team Griffin. Michaud and Lacosse will both be members of Team Griffin. Playing his second summer in Mohawk Valley, Michaud has helped the DiamondDawgs win 11-straight games and move into second place in the league standings. He is currently second in the league with a 1.29 ERA and has posted a 48:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 35 innings. Lacosse is a member of the Albany Dutchmen and has been nearly unhittable this summer, posting a 0.00 ERA over 13 appearances. He is 3-0 with five saves and has allowed just four unearned runs in 17 innings. Teams are hitting just .133 off the left-hander.

The NECBL All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, July 22 at Recreation Field in Montpelier, VT. Former Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Chris Aliano will serve as one of the broadcasters of the event. The PGCBL All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 24 at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam, N.Y.
