Staten Island, NY – Rising Wagner junior Ian Miller (Downingtown, PA / Bishop Shanahan) has been tabbed as the No. 6 prospect in the wood bat Alaska Baseball League by Baseball America. Miller was also named by Perfect Game as the six-team league's No. 8 prospect. Additionally, Perfect Game ranked the Alaska League as the fifth-best wood bat summer league (out of 25).
Miller, who patrolled center field for the Matsu Miners, participated in the league’s annual All-Star Game, while pacing the Alaska Baseball League with 36 stolen bases. The 2012 Second Team All-Northeast Conference (NEC) selection batted .287 (33-115) and capped his successful summer by reaching base safely in each of his last 15 games,
As a sophomore in 2012, Miller had a breakout campaign for Wagner hitting .312 with a NEC-best 34 stolen bases. The Keystone State native also led the Seahawks with 23 multi-hit games, 64 hits, 39 runs and 27 walks.
