Wagner Baseball Announces Staff Additions
Staten Island, NY -- Wagner head coach Jim Carone has appointed Marlon Calbi as an assistant coach and Eddie Brown as the director of operations.
Calbi will be responsible for working with the infielders and hitters, while assisting with recruiting. He comes to Grymes Hill following a standout four-year career for the University of Villanova baseball and football teams.
On the diamond, he was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Wildcats and hit .266 with 175 hits and 160 runs over 199 games while helping Villanova to 99 wins. Calbi was also a back-up quarterback and holder for the Wildcats’ football team and was a member of the 2009 FCS National Championship Team.
Brown will be responsible for team travel and game day operations after concluding a standout two-year career for the Seahawks. Last year, he hit a team-best .314 while starting 49 games at shortstop. Brown also recorded team-highs with 15 doubles, three home runs and 36 RBI.
