New Britain, CT -- Head coach Beryl Piper has added Kristina Baugh to her coaching staff for the 2012-13 season.  Baugh spent last season as the head coach of the Carolina Cheetahs, a men's professional team, of the American Basketball Association.

"I am very honored to have Kristina join my staff," Piper said.  "She is high energy and very eager to work with the student-athletes on and off the court.  Her experience coaching prior to Central allows her to jump right in and contribute."

"I am ecstatic to be back in women's basketball and could not be happier to be a part of a great staff, tradition, and team here at CCSU," Buagh said.

As the head coach of the Cheetahs, Baugh led the squad to a 14-7 record and a playoff appearance.  She also helped develop a First Team All-Star, in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Prior to that, Baugh served as an assistant coach on the collegiate level with the women's program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  While with the Highlanders, she assisted with film breakdown and scouting as well as serving as the team's travel coordinator.  On the court she worked with the guard and post positions.

Baugh also held an assistant coaching and teaching position at Winston-Salem University between 2007 and 2010.  Baugh was involved with all aspects of the basketball program while with the Rams.  As an instructor at the school, she taught courses on weight control, nutrition and exercise.

Baugh also has experience from working at numerous camps and coaching clinics.

She played her collegiate basketball in the Big East Conference for Providence College.  Baugh served as a team captain during her senior season with the Friars.
