Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Weekly Release (9/24)
9/24/2012
Brooklyn was well represented this week as both NEC Men’s Soccer Weekly Award winners came from one of New York City’s five boroughs. Senior
Adam Maabdi of St. Francis (NY) kept the Terriers’ unbeaten streak intact, at three games, by scoring two goals and totaling five points during a 1-0-1 week. He did most of his damage in a 3-1 victory over Rider on the road, scoring once and assisting on another. He then converted a penalty kick in a 1-1 draw at home against Manhattan. The NEC Rookie of the Week award went to a freshman right down the street from the Terriers, as LIU Brooklyn’s
Robert Soto garnered the honor. Soto scored his first collegiate goal with just four minutes elapsed in a 1-1 tie against Columbia. With just one non-conference game on tap this week, all 11 teams will be gearing up for the start of NEC action this week. Check out all of the highlights and a couple Tweets of the Week in the fifth edition of the NEC Men’s Soccer Weekly Release.
