Kaleigh Gibbons helped the Hawks to a 1-1 record and posted some career numbers along the way. This week’s NEC Player of the Week, Gibbons combined for 11 points, including six goals. She had a career-high seven points in a 16-15 loss at Lafayette, scoring three times and handing out four assists. She also collected two draw controls and one ground ball. The 2012 All-NEC First Team selection then reeled off three more goals, including the game-winner, and added one helper in a 12-5 victory over Siena at home. Samantha Tilts, the NEC Defensive Player of the Week, combined for 25 saves as the Bobcats won back-to-back road games. In a 13-12 overtime win at Iona, she stopped 13 of 25 shots on goal. Tilts then posted 12 saves in a 12-11 victory at Vermont. On the rookie side, Wagner’s
Casey McCarthy helped the Seahawks to a 1-1 record last week, scoring six goals for six points. In a 16-6 win over Howard, she netted a career-high four goals, including the game-winner. On the road at Liberty, she pocketed two scores while nabbing four ground balls and two caused turnovers. For the week, she picked up five ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers.
