Somerset, NJ--Coming off a win at the 2013 NEC Women’s Golf Championship, Fairleigh Dickinson’s
Mariana Juaristi (Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico/Prepa Tec) was named the 2013 NEC Golfer of the Year as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Juaristi shot under par in two of three rounds at the tournament, posting scores of 71, 78 and 70 for a total of 219 to lead the field. The junior averaged 79.81 per round in 2012-13, and recorded five top-15 finishes, including a tie for seventh at the ECAC Championship with scores of 74 and 80 for 154 total, and tie for 10th at the St. John’s Intercollegiate after carding round scores of 77 and 79. Juaristi was also an NEC Golfer of the Week honoree on March 27.
LIU Brooklyn’s
Marisol Doglioli (Aosta, Italy/Mount St. Mary's) was named NEC Rookie of the Year, as well as First Team All-NEC. The freshman won the Monmouth Hawk Invitational for her first career title and finished in a tie for sixth place at the NEC Tournament. Doglioli recorded an average of 80.5 in 2012-13 and was named NEC Golfer of the Week on April 13 for her performance at the Hawk Invitational.
Central Connecticut’s
Carly Ludwig was voted NEC Coach of the Year by her peers. Ludwig led the Blue Devils to second place at the NEC Championship, their best finish since the 2007 season. She also guided them to a win at the Mount St. Mary’s Invitational as well as third place at the St. John’s Invitational.
Joining Doglioli on the First Team is
Cristina Felip (Barcelona, Spain/IES Joaquim Blume), who earns a spot for the second year in a row. The sophomore’s best finish of the year came at the Lonnie Barton Invitational where she took home medalist honors to win the tournament for a second time. She posted three top-10 finishes on the season and averaged 79.8 per round.
Central Connecticut’s
Anna Ausanio (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) picks up All-Conference First Team honors after being named to the Second Team last season. The senior is coming off a second place finish at the NEC Championship, posting scores of 74, 79 and 72 for a total of 226. She recorded seven top-10 and four top-five finishes this season and averaged 77.8 per round.
Saint Francis U’s
Ann Colligan (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) garners All-NEC First Team honors after averaging 78.2 per round this season. The junior posted two wins on the season at the Cleveland State Invitational and Purple Eagles Invitational, as well as a fourth place at the NEC Championship and six total top-five finishes. Colligan was a two-time NEC Golfer of the Week honoree this season.
Fairleigh Dickinson’s
Annika Karrlson (Ekero, Poland), the 2012 NEC Golfer of the Year, earns All-NEC Second Team honors in 2013. She averaged 80.95 this season with two top-10 finishes, including a season best tie for seventh at the St. John’s Intercollegiate where she carded round scores of 76 and 79.
LIU Brooklyn’s
Brianna Maynard (Auckland, New Zealand/Rosehill Col.) and
Alice Boothroyd (North Yorkshire, England/Rossett) were named to the All-Conference Second Team. Maynard averaged 80.2 this season with five top-10 finishes, including fifth place at the NEC Championship and fourth at the Monmouth Hawk Invitational, while Boothroyd placed third at the NEC Championship with scores of 76, 74 and 80. She posted a season average of 81.9.

Kelsi Kavanagh (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro) and Saint Francis U’s
Taylar Jaramillo (Belen, NM/Belen) round out the All-NEC Second Team. Kavanagh won the Hartford Invitational toward the end of the spring season after carding scores of 79 and 79, and was named NEC Golfer of the Week for her efforts. She placed in the top 20 at the NEC Championships. Jaramillo averaged 81.0 in her freshman season and finished in the top-15 in her last three tournaments, including a 10th place at the NEC Championship.
