NEC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nadim Saqui, St. Francis Brooklyn

Saqui came off the bench to score the golden goal in the 103rd minute to give St. Francis Brooklyn a 2-1 overtime win at LIU Brooklyn on Friday in a first place showdown that clinched the Terriers a second consecutive NEC regular season crown. A ball was sent into the box by Collyns Laokandi and deflected to Saqui who headed it home for his first career goal. With the win, the Terriers will host the 2017 NEC Men’s Soccer Tournament, which will be held this Friday and Sunday at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

NEC MEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lucas Rosa, Saint Francis U

Rosa tallied a team-high three points on a goal and an assist in Saint Francis U’s 4-1 win over Robert Morris on Friday. The freshman assisted on Mario Mastrangelo’s header off a corner in the 41st minute to give the Red Flash a 2-1 lead and then added his fourth goal of the season in the 87th minute to extend SFU’s lead to 3-1. Rosa finished the season ranked third on the Red Flash in goals and points (11).

NEC PRIME PERFORMERS

- Fairleigh Dickinson’s Jacob Labovitz (Great Falls, VA/Langley) and Ahu Obhakhan (Drogheda, Ireland/St. Joseph CBS) both earned prime performer honors after leading the Knights to a 3-0 win over SHU and the team’s first tournamnet berth since 2012. Labovitz opened the scoring for FDU in the 18th minute and Obhakhan put in a rebound just 12 minutes later to give the Knights a 2-0 lead.
