Somerset, NJ -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has named five Northeast Conference student-athletes to its 2007 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region teams. Two-time NEC Player of the Year Blair Wynne (Arima, Trinidad &Tobago/Sangre Grande) of Lock Haven headlines the list of NEC all-region players released by the NFHCA on Wednesday morning. Wynne received all-Mideast region first team honors, while the other four NEC student-athletes were second team honorees.

Lock Haven sophomore back Alana Lewis (Trinidad & Tobago/Southeast Port-of-Spain), Sacred Heart junior forward Carisa Eye (Nesconset, NY/Smithtown), and Quinnipiac senior defender Megan Dahle (Farmington, CT/Farmington) earned spots on the all-Mideast region second team, while Monmouth junior midfielder Molly Passarella (Atco, NJ/Hammonton) was an all-Midatlantic region second team selection.

Wynne, a senior midfielder, garnered two major awards at this year's championship banquet, taking home the NEC Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year hardware. She was previously named the conference's top player for the 2005 season. Wynne led the conference in every major offensive statistical category this fall, ranking first in goals (17), assists (11), points (45), and shots (5.9 per game). She was a dominant force in the league throughout her four-year career, during which Lock Haven posted a 29-2 record during regular season league play.

Lewis, Wynne's sophomore teammate, was billed the 2007 NEC Defensive Player of the Year. The sophomore back was one of the key reasons that the Lady Eagles allowed league-low 1.38 goals per game. She also made contributions on the offensive end, tallying four goals and six assists in 23 games (all starts).

Together, Wynne and Lewis helped Lock Haven capture its fourth consecutive NEC regular season title and second straight NEC tournament crown. NorPac Conference champ Stanford edged the Lady Eagles, 1-0, in the NCAA Tournament Opening Round.

Eye followed up her 2006 NEC Player of the Year award by earning 2007 all-NEC first team honors on the heels of another notable offensive campaign. The junior forward was Sacred Heart's team leader in goals (13) and points (27). She tallied the Pioneers' lone goal in a 3-1 semifinal loss to Rider at the NEC Championship.

Eye, Lewis, and Wynne were all named to the NEC's 2007 all-tournament team with Wynne earning MVP honors for her efforts during the four-team, two-day conference championship in early November.

Dahle, an all-NEC first team selection, spearheaded the Quinnipiac defense that allowed only 1.86 goals per game. She was dangerous in the offensive end, too, firing 51 shots and notching two game-winning goals.

Passarella started at midfield in all 16 of Monmouth's games. The junior middie, who tallied three total goals and one gamewinner, played well on both sides of the ball to help Monmouth rebound from an 0-7 start and remain in contention for an NEC Tournament berth until the season's final weekend.
