Staten Island, NY -- T.J. Czeski (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) has rejoined the Wagner College men’s basketball team, head coach Mike Deane has announced.

Czeski saw action in 26 games as a freshman, averaging 8.5 minutes per game primarily as a reserve point guard, handing out 25 assists on the season, including a career-high eight-assist outing in a win over Union. The 6-2, 190-pound guard also recorded 24 steals, which ranked him third on the team. On two occasions, Czeski came up with three steals in a game. For the season, he shot 15-19 (.789) from the free throw line.

Prior to his Wagner career, Czeski was a standout in both basketball and football at Amsterdam High where he received numerous honors during his prep career. On the hardwood, he was third in the Big 10 Capital Region District with 18.5 ppg and also averaged seven rebounds, and five assists per game as a senior. He was named Player of the Year by the Amsterdam Recorder and chosen as a First Team All-Star by the Daily Gazette and the Albany Times Union.

On the gridiron, he led the Rams to three Big 10 championships and the Class A State Title in 2005 as a quarterback/safety.

Deane also announced that Jaren Haley, a freshman guard from Woodbridge, VA, is no longer with the team. Haley has not seen any action during the 2007-2008 season.
