The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team received accolades from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) for academic achievements during the 2009-10 year. The Bobcats are just one of 48 teams to be honored as an IWLCA Academic Squad. A team must post a collective grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to receive this distinction. The Bobcats also landed a program-high seven players from last year’s team to the individual IWLCA Academic Squad. Players must be at least a junior with a GPA of at least 3.5 to qualify for the honor. "We are very fortunate to have always had strong academic role models among the older players on the team, but to have seven juniors and seniors who have maintained a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA is impressive," said women’s head lacrosse coach Danie Caro.
