LIU Women's Volleyball Falls to No. 4 Stanford in First Round of NCAA Tournament

The Long Island University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-10) loss to No. 4 Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Senior Martina Racic turned in six kills to lead the Blackbirds. The loss put an end to Long Islands school-record 12-match winning streak. The Blackbirds ended the season with a 21-14 record, including a 16-0 mark in NEC play en-route to their sixth straight Northeast Conference title.
Long Island Volleyball Team Draws No. 4 Stanford in NCAA Tournament

The Long Island University volleyball team will head to the West Coast to take on Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Dec. 4. The six-time Northeast Conference champions will travel across country to compete against the fourth seed in the tournament. In the other half of the bracket, St. Marys (CA) will face UC-Santa Barbara. The winners of those two matches will meet on Dec. 5.
