Sacred Heart's Jamie Kilis (Marlborough, CT) has been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Division I All-Academic Team. A record total of 531 student-athletes representing 146 Division I institutions composed the women's 2009 All-Academic team. The USTFCCCA honors Division I individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25.

Monmouth University had three freshmen and two former All-Americans compete at the 2009 United States Junior National and National Championships hosted on the campus of the University of Oregon. Valerie Carney (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) placed 9th in the womens javelin, throwing 133 4, missing the finals by three inches and a guaranteed junior All-American spot, while former Hawk All-American Bobby Smith placed 8th in the javelin with his throw of 235 1 Ό, making the finals. Freshman Stevenson Cajuste (Egg Harbor, N.J./Egg Harbor) ran a time of 54.28 in the 400 hurdles, claiming 14 th overall, while classmates Symmone Fisher (Coram, N.Y./Longwood) finished 21st in the womens hammer with a mark of 144 5 Ό and Lindsey Walsh (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) earned 2,543 for 16th place after day 1 (and three events) of the heptathlon. Former Hawk All-American Jon Kalnas took 12th in the shot put, throwing the implement 51' 1/4".
