New Haven, CT -- Sparked by Outstanding Track Event Perfomer Genita Dickey, Robert Morris won its second NEC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship in the last three years at Coxe Cage on the campus of Yale University.   The Colonials completed the two-day meet with 128 points, beating out Mount St. Mary's (116 points) and Central Connecticut State (82 points).

Dickey earned the gold medal in both the 55 meter hurdles (8.16) and 500 meters (1:14.39).   Dickey dominated both events, including winning the 500 meters by nearly three seconds over the Mount's Michelle Higginbottom.  Other winners for the Colonials included Jessica Cooper in the pole vault (9' 0") and the 4x400 meter relay team (3:54.34).

Other outstanding performances in the meet were turned in by Central Connecticut State's Stacey Clarke, who captured both the 55 meters (7.18) and 200 meters (25.81), LIU's Sakinah Patterson, who won both the 800 meters (2:17.54) and mile (5:14.32) and St. Francis (PA)'s Nicole Hollman, who was named the meet's Outstanding Field Event Performer after setting a new NEC Championship record in the weight throw with a toss of 57' 8 1/4".

Jim Deegan of Mount St. Mary's was named NEC Coach of the Year.
