Five Quesitons With Michael Peeples, Fairleigh Dickinson

How has the team adjusted to the departure of Chad Timberlake, Gordon Klaiber and Andrea Crosariol, who were so instrumental to the program’s success in recent years?

We've adjusted pretty well to it as far as speed and quickness. We just learned how to play harder and adjust to a faster-paced game. The newcomers have adjusted to the team very well and we have great team chemistry this season.

Your first dose of notoriety came as a result of your performance in the closing seconds of the BracketBuster win over Wisconsin-Green Bay last season. Describe the final moments of that game and what the win meant for the team.

In the final moments of that game, I just wanted to play aggressive defense. I saw the play before it happened, so I went for the steal and got it. It was a big win for us - it really set the tone for the rest of our season. It got us some national recognition and let people know about Fairleigh Dickinson basketball.

What were your thoughts in the offseason knowing that you would be transitioning from a supporting to a feature role in the FDU offense?

I already knew that I had to be more of a team leader as a senior this season. So I knew that I had to step up and I worked on my overall game over the summer. I’ve been waiting for my time and my time is now.

Which player on the team will surprise everyone with his performance on the court this season?

Andre Harris, because he has really been a big contributor for us off the bench and now he has a chance to start and be a really big part of the offense. He worked really hard on his conditioning and we played a lot together over the summer to get ready.

While FDU came up just short in the 2006 NEC title game against Monmouth, it did add another chapter to the burgeoning rivalry between the two schools. How does it feel when you know Monmouth is coming up on the slate?

It’s just like any other game except this is more of a personal rivalry because they beat us last year. Every game we play with them is intense and a lot of people look forward to that game. It’s one of the biggest rivalries I’ve ever been in.
