Five Questions With Joe Seymore, Central Connecticut State

1. As the lone senior on the team and the only Blue Devil with an NEC title to his credit, what role have you played in the development in the team’s younger players?

The guys have developed on their own. The players we have are very intelligent, want to learn to get better and want to win. When you have those key factors inside each player there is not much I can teach them. They develop on their own.

2. What one game to you have circled on the schedule and why?

Robert Morris at home. Historically I have played poorly against Robert Morris both home and away, but this year I have matured both mentally and physically and am looking forward to playing one of my best games against them to redeem myself.

3. You are noted around the league for your long distance shooting marksmanship. What was the most memorable shot you’ve hit in your career?

The most memorable shot I have hit in my career was the first three against Ohio State (in the 2008 NCAA Tournament). It made me realize I can play at a high level when I focus and stay fearless.

4. You’ve witnessed the growth of Ken Horton and Shemik Thompson into all-star caliber players the last two years. Describe their contributions to the program and what we can expect from them in the future.

Their contributions have been priceless for our team. They have really matured and they are the glue to the team that makes us go. I expect great things from them and for this program because of them.

5. Fill in the blank. In order for CCSU to contend for the NEC title this season, we must:

- Play to win
- Defend/rebound
- Have fun
- Show mental toughness
